Installation. Microwave ovens, televisions, video surveillance system.

These tenants are somewhat restricted and automatic in their movements, but cause no trouble and offer no dissent.

A collection of microwave ovens have been partially disassembled and stacked. Some retain their moving turntables and lights. Some are monitored using video surveillance, their walls stained with a buildup of baked-on food.

Disemboweled televisions glare down at them, reflecting their internal worlds, sequenced by an automated system.

St Pauls St Gallery, Auckland. 14th – 25th August 2013, as part of the group show: Along the Transect Line, curated by Chelsea Rothbart.
